clinical skin needling for stretch marks (Striae Gravidarum)
This clinical treatment uses the latest medical skin needling device to stimulate new collagen to dramatically reduce stretch marks.
what are stretch marks?
When skin stretches rapidly it breaks the collagen, leaving marks. Stretch marks are best thought of as depressed scars, where the normal skin structure has been significantly injured and the broken collogen is replaced by fibrous tissue. They can be red or white. Generally red stretch marks are more responsive to treatment than white stretch marks.
what is skin needling for stretch marks?
Skin needling is also known as collagen induction therapy and involves using a sterile roller comprised of a series of fine, sharp needles to puncture the skin. Your treatment is performed in a sterile setting and we only adhere to the strictest hygiene standards.
Prior to your treatment a topical anaesthetic is applied for comfort. A sterile roller, with ultra fine needles, is then "rolled" across your skin. This creates microscopic channels deep into the dermis that stimulate your body to produce new collagen.
how many treatments will I need?
As skin needling treatment for stretch marks is always based on your individual needs, the number of treatments varies from one client to another. Most patients have between three and six treatments. To ensure the best possible results, skin needling is performed at six to eight week intervals.
what do the treatments feel like?
The topical anaesthetic minimises any discomfort while you receive your skin needling treatment. And you can usually resume your normal activities immediately, but may experience some minor redness for 48-72 hours.
