TCA chemical peels

what conditions does it treat?
• brown spot/pigmentation (solar Lentigines) • freckles • sun damage
• fine – medium lines/wrinkles • acne scarring • sun-damaged skin
• mature/weathered skin • uneven skin texture • solar keratoses

what is it?
Tri-chloroacetic acid (TCA) is one of the original skin rejuvenation peels for people who want to improve moderate to severe sun damage or the signs of ageing. It’s ideal for men and women of any age.

The effects of these superficial peels are increased by layering applications. The peel depth we use depends on your skin type, skin condition and desired outcome. You’ll see a noticeable improvement after every peel.

what do the treatments feel like?
TCA chemical peels have a warming sensation when initially applied, which subsides within a couple of minutes as it neutralises. During this time you hold a cooling fan over your face that helps to greatly reduce any stinging.

how do I prepare my skin?
Prior to having a TCA peel, we recommend that your skin is prepared with cosmeceutical active ingredients for at least two weeks. This is to:

  • maximise your peel results
  • reduce your healing time
  • reduce the risk of after peel complications.

At your initial consultation, your dermal therapist will also recommend a home care regime for you.

what is it?
Jessner peels give your skin a clearer more youthful tone and texture by removing congested sebum and dead skin cells. They have been used for cosmetic purposes for over thirty years and are still one of the most popular options for skin rejuvenation.

The effects of these mild to moderate peels are increased by layering applications. The peel depth we use depends on your skin type, skin condition and desired outcome. They can be used in conjunction with microdermabrasion for stronger results.

glycolic and lactic peels

what conditions does it treat?
• dark, irregular patches commonly found on the upper cheek, nose, lips, upper lip and forehead (melasma)    • brown spots/pigmentation (solar lentigines)    • acne    • fine lines
• dehydrated skin

what is it?
A lactic peel is a light chemical peel derived from milk. Glycolic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that naturally occurs in sugar cane. Combining these two mild peels exfoliates your skin to leave it feeling soft, fresh and hydrated. It also improves the tone, health and texture of your skin.

It’s applied in different strengths - ranging from 20-70% - for varying time frames, depending on the result you are after and how your skin responds.

This gentle but effective treatment penetrates your skin to loosen the thickened surface layers that appear dry, rough and scaly better than other peels. At the same time, it stimulates the production of collagen in your deeper layers.
